Takes it’s toll

Life is dealing people some hard blows lately. The flood waters didn’t make it to the 1974 levels. Thank the powers that be.

You know what though? Maybe we needed something like this to remind those butt heads to pull their heads out of their backsides and act like human beings for a change.

I can count on one hand, the number of emergency service sirens in the last 3 days, and still have fingers left over. We usually hear about 5-15 per day. The sirens aren’t as recogisable as they used to be, being able to differenciate between fire, police and ambulance, but I would imagine most of the sirens we hear are police.

The choppers have scaled back and there were no air rescues last night. I slept uninterrupted for the first time this week.

Time for Brisbane, Ipswich and the surrounding towns to get up, dust off and start all over again.
